The mothership has landed!

We seem to have won the award for the largest tent. It's certainly the largest tent we've ever seen and that seems to go for most of the other residents at Camping de Courte Vallee who all came round to have a look.

The site is lovely. Very well maintained and with lovely shady pitches (and no rock pegs required). It's owned by Brits which means it's very friendly, but perhaps less cosmopolitan than other sites, although there are several Dutch (obviously) and Spanish too. There are quite a few regulars of a certain age which lends the site an ambience of Farty Owls, Flowery Twats, Fawlty Towers at times. They've put on a golf cart to take the regulars on tours past our tent. So we quite famous already, which is cool.

We had to swap pitches late on Friday before we set up. (What is it, when you tell people you've got a big one, they never believe you... I've suffered with that all my life).
